1. Satendar Rawat and Mohit Khatana won silver medals in the Asian junior boxing championship.
  2. Debendranath Sarangi, elected as a member of the World Squash Federation’s Ethic Commission. He is the first Asian and first Indian to get elected to this commission which is to be chaired by David Howman.
  3. Australian sprinter Betty Cuthbert has died aged 79. He is the only athlete to have won the Olympic 100m, 200m and 500m titles.
  4. The decision of BCCI to impose life ban on cricketer S. Sreesanth in the wake of the IPL 2013 spot fixing scandal has been quashed by Kerala High Court. Court said that there was no material or evidence before the disciplinary committee and conclusion was based in circumstantial evidence.
  5. Food company Britannia Industries Ltd is keen to increase its international foot print by setting up units in Africa and Myanmmar. It is already implementing its maiden Greenfield project in Nepal.
  6. PSC- The production sharing contracts signed for exploration and development of oil fields , requires operator to pay a pre-determined share of the surplus petroleum output to the Centre as a form of royalty. Profit petroleum may be exempt from levy of GST.
